This woodcarving was from ShanXi China, originally a part of architectural adornments. Woodcarving in temple or constructions requires very high level of craftsmanship. While due to serious damage and lost of ancient constructions in China architectural woodcarving became very rare. This specific piece was well maintained with exquisite carving skills of three-dimensional flowers with fortune clouds. Original lacquer in red was showing. It is mounted to a wood stand and ready for display. This woodcarving will be attractive and ideal to be placed on an altar table or display shelf.
