This classic Ming style cabinet greatly annotates elegancy through clear lines and minimal decorations.  Made in ShanXi during 19th century, this cabinet was used to store scholar’s books, painting rolls and other objects in a three-shelf compartment.  Unlike the normal design for Scholar's Cabinets to fit drawers in main compartment, this cabinet was uniquely designed with two mini drawers located each side of the bottom for privacy storage.  The overall proportion of this cabinet was nearly perfect.  Its dark brown lacquer greatly matches the original full moon fitting, where natural patina and aged rust gives it a sense as an antique treasure.  This cabinet will easily be a centerpiece for any open space such as living or family area.
